“The pathway leading to your dreams may be daunting. Just take it one step at a time.”
I have very lofty dreams. A world free of famine, war, tyranny, oppression. A sustainable healing arts resort community farm. A successful doctor, artist, and writer. I have at least five large creative projects cooking while I work, go to school, maintain relationships, and practice self-care to ensure a healthy sense of well-being. Sometimes things get neglected in that dance and things get torn when I stretch too far, but I strive to mend myself when that happens.
Everyday I wake up and paint for about an hour to share these watercolor affirmations. This is but one step towards that floating castle in the sky, obscured by clouds, effervescent in the ocean's reflection. Yet the castle remains, and as I gaze back, a long path stretches out behind me, and I can barely make out its origin.
Whether you dream big or dream small, the only way to get there is to take one step at a time, letting your feet guide you. It's okay to stumble and fall, just be sure to care for the bruises and learn to avoid the pitfalls along the way.
