Our living bodies are more than molecules making up tissues, they are cycles and rhythms, currents and ecosystems. Some parts of the living body are meant to never rest for more than just a microsecond, like our hearts. Other parts degrade if they move too much.

Too much sleep is terrible for us, leaves us lethargic and useless the rest of the fleeting day we feel like we've wasted, while not enough doesn't let your body purge overnight and clean itself, making you on edge, easily stressed, and more prone to outbursts.
