“Embracing Sexuality allows our Roots to glow. Be proud of who you are”

Sex Positivity is something our society has historically ignored, demonized, and shamed.

The truth is that we are sexual beings. We all deserve to be touched, desired, experience sensuality and to be held sacred by a lover or lovers. Embracing the truth of ourselves involves embracing our sexuality, whether we are straight, gay, pansexual, asexual, etc, and allowing ourselves to be open about it. It sets us free.

Without having a conversation around sexuality, denying it exists: that’s where a lot of the issues people have with sex and sexuality stem from. It creates ignorance and confusion, allowing toxic narratives and opens the doors for abuse.

Responsible sex education should center around consent, safe practices, asking and receiving, respecting boundaries, and self-exploration.

Sex Positivity and Pride is about self-acceptance, allowing oneself to be open, honoring others in their journey, and sharing with them in all the bliss, awkwardness, comfortability, and exploration that comes forth from that sharing. We should only do what feels right and never force ourselves or try to manipulate another (excepting consensual BDSM play). Be true to yourself. Don’t settle. No one is entitled to your body and you are not a possession. Sex can be beautiful, an intimate joining of more than just bodies.

Embracing this opens a person to a deep, primal connection to their identity as a human, as a mammal. The root chakra is all about identity and security. Sexual identity is absolutely part of that.

Have fun, be safe, and know that it’s all a learning process! Enjoy one another out there!
