Sleep is a Gift

Sleep is so necessary for health. The body needs to rest, and the conscious mind to quiet down and reflect. Our organs cycle through the night, nourishing themselves and rebuilding. Adequate sleep is indeed a fundamental cornerstone of a happy life!
Sleep can be so elusive, when monkey-minds are racing. I like to quiet my mind with yoga nidra for a gentle transition. No screen time an hour before bed, and bed itself should only be for sleep and sex (although I do read in bed quite often).
We get to let our imaginations run wild, as well! Whether that be through immersive dreams reflecting on our day and unpacking our experiences, building new experiences, or astral traveling to visit other people, places, and times. Even a deep dark sleep, if we've had a rough day, to give us peace.
