Each of us has been through so much! We all have some sort of trauma, where we weren’t noticed, listened to, loved enough, stifled, never pushed, or even hurt or abused. Our inner child is our source of joy and play. It’s also a place of deep vulnerability, fear, and sorrow that needs protection and reassurance.
Give your inner child a hug! Tell them it’s okay. You love them. You’re right here. Feel what you need to feel.
Suppressing emotions leads to depression, anxiety, anger, and a whole host of negative effects on our psyche. Allowing them to flow and acknowledging their presence is the first step to healing.
